🛣️ Road Performance

The Harley-Davidson Pan America ST inspires confidence every time I throw a leg over it. Whether I’m carving through tight mountain curves or cruising for hours on the interstate, the bike remains stable, predictable, and enjoyable to ride. It corners exceptionally well, feels planted at highway speeds, and handles winding mountain roads with ease. When the weather turns bad, switching to Rain Mode noticeably improves confidence by delivering smooth, controlled power and excellent traction. After riding this motorcycle through a wide range of road and weather conditions, I can honestly say its overall road performance is one of its greatest strengths.

💺 Comfort

Comfort is one area where I believe the Pan America ST can be improved. In my experience, the factory seat was not comfortable for long-distance riding. After putting serious miles on the bike, I knew I needed a better solution.

I tried the Saddlemen Adventure seat, and while Saddlemen provided excellent customer service by rebuilding the seat for me twice, it still wasn’t the right fit for my long-distance riding. I continue to use it for local rides, but for extended trips I’ve found that I prefer the Mustang seat.

I also recommend installing handlebar risers and a set of quality foot pegs. Those upgrades make a noticeable difference in riding position and overall comfort, especially on all-day rides.

If you’re planning to tour on the Pan America ST, my recommendations are simple:

• Replace the factory seat with one that fits your riding style.
• Install handlebar risers.
• Upgrade the foot pegs.
• Add crash bars for both protection and peace of mind.

With those changes, the Pan America ST becomes a much more comfortable and capable long-distance touring motorcycle.

The Pan America ST is an excellent touring motorcycle that can be customized to fit your riding style. I prefer hard saddlebags with a soft duffel on the rear rack, which has worked well on my long-distance trips. I typically get around 250 miles per tank, making fuel stops infrequent. For navigation, I skip the factory GPS and use Apple CarPlay with Google Maps, which has proven reliable on all my travels. When it comes to luggage, heated gear, and other touring accessories, my advice is to compare the available options and choose the setup that best fits your budget and the way you ride.

The Pan America ST comes fairly basic from the factory, so most riders will want to personalize it over time.
