Welcome to the Kentucky Red River Gorge Scenic Byway

The Red River Gorge Scenic Byway is Kentucky’s official route for the Harley-Davidson 50 Rides Challenge. Winding through the heart of the Daniel Boone National Forest, this scenic ride features towering sandstone cliffs, natural arches, forested mountains, and some of the most beautiful roads in the Bluegrass State.

The official Harley-Davidson checkpoint is the Natural Bridge State Resort Park sign, located along KY-11 at 2135 Natural Bridge Road, Slade, Kentucky. Be sure to stop for your checkpoint photo before exploring the park’s scenic overlooks, hiking trails, and the iconic Natural Bridge.

Travel Tips

Fuel is readily available along the route.
Spring and fall offer the most spectacular scenery.
Allow extra time to stop at the scenic overlooks.
Watch for wildlife during the early morning and evening hours.
Check the weather before riding, especially during mountain fog.
Bring a camera—there are numerous excellent photo opportunities.
